MIRACLE BIRTHING CENTRE
Project Orphan’s Medical Centre expanded its healthcare services in 2019 by opening Miracle Birthing Centre which works to improve maternal and infant health throughout Uganda! Miracle Birthing Centre is the first of its kind in the Luweero District.
Every day, 15 women die in Uganda from pregnancy and childbirth-related causes, 94 babies are stillborn and 81 newborn babies die. This equates to 69,5701 deaths each year due to complications during pregnancy, childbirth and in the first month.
In most hospitals there are no monitors, no delivery rooms, and many women are still giving birth in their homes. Diseases like malaria, tetanus, and tuberculosis are still endangering Uganda's residents, including pregnant women and their newborn babies.
Miracle Birthing Centre is equipped with deliver beds, incubators, baby warmers, oxygenators, medicine, pulse monitors, ultrasound machines and other quality medical equipment. Project Orphans imagines a world where all women have access to a midwife and are respected, empowered and able to thrive throughout the birth process.
