PROJECT ORPHAN’S MEDICAL CENTRE
RESPONDING TO OUR COMMUNITY'S HEALTHCARE NEEDS
PROVIDING ACCESS TO QUALITY HEALTHCARE…
Healthcare is a vital need not only for the children and young-women living on-site; but for our community at large. With an emphasis on prevention and care, Project Orphan’s Medical Centre provides love and care for our neighbors by offering them accessible, quality healthcare.
In Uganda, there is only one doctor for every 8,300 Ugandans
70% of doctors practice in urban areas, where only 20% of the population lives. Access to quality healthcare in rural areas is nearly impossible.
Malaria is a leading cause of death and disease in many countries, and young children and pregnant women are the groups most affected. Project Orphan’s Medical Centre treats nearly 200 people each month who have been affected by malaria.
Life expectancy at birth: F 64/M 62 years
The top five causes of death in Uganda are neonatal disorders, HIV/AIDS, malaria, lower respiratory infections and tuberculosis.
