Project Orphans operates a small farm at the Pearl Village campus. The farm provides grains, potatoes, corn, beans, vegetables, watermelon and other produce to help feed those in need in our community. In addition, the food harvested at Pearl Village also help to feed patients who are staying at Miracle Birthing Centre and our children, who are students, at Blessing’s Cove!

The farm at Pearl Village also creates employment opportunities for young adults in our area who are in need of work. In addition, to planting and harvesting, we have a milking cow, named Georgia, who supplies milk for children and those living on campus!

The Pearl Village chicken farm allows us to provide food for children on campus while helping encourage our community to also invest in farming and livestock. Chicken eggs are used for breakfast at Blessing’s Cove and the Miracle Birthing Centre. They are a great source of protein and make the popular “Rolex!” A popular food item in Uganda, combining an egg omelette and veggies wrapped in a chapati.
